Rather than an in-person luncheon, Maryhurst’s 2020 Week of Hope will be a series of online moments beginning on Monday, 9/28 and culminating with a keynote video presentation on Friday, 10/2. Week of Hope content will replicate and expand upon the Journey of Hope format, as we’ll have a chance to share staff profiles, supporter spotlights, and testimonies from former clients who have inspiring stories of life-changing transformation. To preserve the donation-focused element of the event, we’ll be encouraging supporters to utilize their online and offline networks for peer-to-peer fundraising.
We love gathering in person and spending time with our community at Journey of Hope, but the COVID-19 pandemic has sadly made luncheons like ours unsafe. Still, there are plenty of upsides to moving the event online! We’ll be able to reach a larger local, regional, and national audience. And by spreading our storytelling over the course of a week and offering varying content each day, we’ll be giving supporters repeated and specialized opportunities to engage with the Maryhurst mission in a way that speaks to them.
The volunteers who help make Journey of Hope special are more important than ever. Table hosts can still facilitate their guests’ Week of Hope experience by contacting them with helpful info. Sponsors remain critical to helping us produce the event, and our opportunity to recognize them have expanded. Event attendees will have the chance to create their own personal fundraising link and set a donation goal. There’s much more information to come later this summer, including a supporter toolkit with instructions on how to get started.
