Back to School Styles!

On March 12th, Maryhurst asked for the community’s support in helping us provide each young woman in our care with a haircut to boost confidence as they returned to their school classrooms. The response was incredible! With the support of volunteer partner, Roo’s Wish, we were able to schedule over 100 appointments in fewer than 24 hours after Roo’s Wish shared the need. The post was shared over 1.8K time and had more than 160 comments. Stylists and salons across the city have stepped up and volunteered their time and services to support these young women making them feel confident, seen, and supported.

We could not be more proud to have a community of support the way that we do at Maryhurst. Thank you, Roo’s Wish, for sharing our need and facilitating what has been an absolutely incredible response. Thank you to all who signed up and those who shared with others. Due to your support, the young ladies at Maryhurst will return to school with pride!
