Congratulations, Graduates!

This month, five extraordinary young women received high school diplomas from Maryhurst academy.

On Tuesday May 29, Maryhurst Academy – the JCPS school located on our Dorsey Lane campus – held its spring graduation ceremony.

Joined by Maryhurst staff, residents and their families, each graduate had the chance to speak after receiving their class rings and diplomas.

“When I got here, I hated all of the other girls, and I hated the staff. But look at me now. Because you all stuck with me, I’m leaving here as a high school graduate. That’s something I never thought I’d do,” said Brianna, one of the new Maryhurst alumna.

The graduates have been receiving transitional living support, attending independent skill-building sessions with counselors to help empower the young graduates for the challenges that lie ahead. They are also now eligible to apply for higher education scholarships through Maryhurst and our donors.
