A Maryhurst Thanksgiving

Last year Maryhurst began a new tradition. We’ve always believed every family we work with deserves the ability to observe important family moments such as holiday meals.

The more time our counselors spent with the families in our outpatient counseling program, Renewal, the more we’ve learned firsthand about how difficult it can be to afford expenses beyond basic meal preparations.

So we knew we had to do everything we could to make sure each family in the program had the supplies they needed for a full and plentiful Thanksgiving meal.

We turned to our supporters and held a food drive. Last year we were able to provide modest meal packages and give away a single turkey at our new Thanksgiving Family Celebration.

This year, corporate supporters like Nationwide and First Financial Bank stepped up and made sure we were able to provide full meal kits to families. Nationwide even made sure every family who attended the celebration went home with a turkey. All told, around 50 families attended our celebration – approximately 140 people.

It’s a tradition we’re excited about continuing. To learn more about our Renewal program, click here.
