Spotlight on Miller Family

Earlier this year, the Millers threw a fabulous dinner event in honor of their family, choosing Maryhurst as a beneficiary.

We were thrilled to host much of the Miller family at our Residential campus in late June to celebrate the funds they raised at their inaugural High Ball earlier this year.

In late 2017, Maryhurst was approached by the children of Paulie and Mary Miller—a family integral to the athletic and political history of Louisville—about the possibility of becoming a beneficiary of an event planned to honor their parents’ legacy.

Paulie Miller spent many years as the football coach at Flaget High School, and the Miller Family appreciated the ties Maryhurst has to the school’s namesake, Bishop Flaget. In his time as Circuit Court Clerk of Jefferson County, Paulie made it a point to mentor youth along with Mary, and causes that inspire children remain important to the family.

All told, the 2018 High Ball raised more than $30,000 for Maryhurst and Kosair Charities, a partner nonprofit similarly dedicated to improving the lives of children who are hurting.
