Summer 2021: Outdoor Volunteering is Back!

Thank you to Trinity Preysbetrian Church and Bellarmine University for their recent service projects

One of the numerous unfortunate effects of the COVID pandemic has been the loss of Maryhurst volunteer projects led by external groups. These types of service projects make our campuses more engaged, vibrant places.

Recent work has included building and maintaing a shaded gazebo space on our residential campus, where staff and clients alike can come together outside in a peaceful atmosphere. Elsewhere, volunteers have ensured that our landscpaing provides a structured, aesthetically pleasing environment that upholds the dignity of the young people living in our programs.

This month, we were thrilled to be able to once again host folks from Trinity Presbyterian Church and students from Bellarmine University to show our campus some love. If a group you're a part of has an idea for an outdoor service project (or would be willing to plug in to an existing one), you can contact our Community Relations Manager Courtney Lucas at clucas@maryhurst.org.
