Welcome to the Brew Crew!

Youth in Maryhurst's residential program practice financial literacy and job skills through this new initiative

Picture this: you're a Maryhurst employee just arriving to campus for your overnight shift. Your mood is a bit sour because your favorite drive-thru coffee spot was absolutely jam packed when you drove by, and stopping at it would've meant you'd be late for work. You'd all but sworn off the caffiene and resigned yourself to a bleary eight hours when the scent of java reaches your nose. You stroll over to one of the campus buildings and spy the sign: MARYHURST BREW CREW.

Brew Crew is a student-run faux business that provides youth in our residential program the opportunity to practice life and job skills such as customer service, handling 'money,' teamwork, service industry knowledge and more. The kids set up, do their barista thing, and make memories with their favorite staff along the way. They had a blast at their shifts this past month, and they can't wait to try it again.

If you'd like to donate product or equipment to the Brew Crew, reach out to aadams@maryhurst.org
