Support Maryhurst This Year!

Year End Giving 2024

We're wrapping up the year at Maryhurst, which is a time full of some our favorite traditions. Together with the kids and families in our programs, we're celebrating holidays, reflecting on the year that was, and - perhaps most importantly - refocusing on our mission to be a support system to kids and families in 2025. Below you'll find some stats about our year in 2024 and the story of Paige, who put together the scrapbook artwork you see on this page.

  • 3270+ - the number of community contacts made by Maryhurst Renewal community support associates as part of the Community Mental Health Project, an initiative by the City of Louisville to provide no-cost mental health support at hubs like Neighborhood Place, YMCAs, and Community Ministries.
  • 170+ - foster youth who lived at a Maryhurst residential campus throughout the year, where they recovered from trauma, received therapy, worked on life skills, and prepared for their next steps.

Meet Paige

“I made this scrapbook of the support system that helped me through my treatment at Maryhurst and allowed me to be myself.”
- Paige, recent Maryhurst resident

Paige had a rough time adjusting to life at Maryhurst when they arrived on one of our residential campuses last year. Before we helped them transition this summer into a Lexington-area independent living apartment, they put together a scrapbook commemorating the many counselors and support staff that helped them graduate with their high school diploma from Maryhurst Academy. Here’s how Paige described their journey here:

When I first got here, I was in a lot of fights and was consistently in a negative headspace. At first, it was really hard to trust anyone here. Eventually, I grew to understand I need to open up in order to help myself and others. I didn’t learn this on my own, I had a lot of help.
Ms. Tezia helped me understand that it’s okay to tell someone when I harm myself and that I shouldn’t be embarrassed. Ms. Stacie has a great sense of humor and wants you to feel good about yourself. I know I can make the right decisions moving forward in my life because of their support and advice.

Our goal is to always be scrapbook-worthy to people like Paige - today, tomorrow, and well into the future. You can help us acheive that by making a gift to end the year in 2024. Thanks to a generous donor, all gifts from now until 12/31 will be matched up to $25,000.
